Jati, an established brand in the rice industry, celebrated its 30th anniversary at the Premiere Terrace of Lot 10 Kuala Lumpur on May 16, 2023.
The ceremony was officiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI) Padi Industry Development Division director-general Azman Mahmood.
The brand is synonymous with manufacturer Serba Wangi Sdn Bhd, which is one of the nation’s largest rice millers and wholesalers, focusing on the rice business since it began its journey 30 years ago in 1993.
To mark Jati’s 30 years of excellence, the brand made it into the Malaysia Book of Records for producing the heaviest sack of rice in Malaysia, weighing 3 tonnes, beating the old record of 1.501 tonnes.
The 3-ton sacks of rice were then donated to several orphanages and old folks homes.
Various fun-filled activities were held to celebrate the momentous occasion, including dance performances, experience station, promotions and a contest for participants to snap the most creative photo with 30 arc dishes on display for a chance to win 303 sets of attractive prizes.
“This is an honour and a great recognition for Jati, and of course, this success could not have been achieved without the support of our valued customers, who are all over the country,” said Serba Wangi Sdn Bhd senior manager Chua Ken Jin.
After three decades in the market, Jati has proven its authority to steer the industry. The diversity of goods produced, including flour, vermicelli, grain beverages and others, demonstrates Jati’s dedication in providing the finest service quality to customers.
“Jati aspires to be a global brand with a diverse range of products that meet the needs of people at all levels of society,” added Chua.
