It was a big night for Anie Uson from Manila, Philippines who was crowned Miss Chinese World 2023 at Berjaya Times Square Hotel Kuala Lumpur on May 20, 2023, beating out contenders from Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

The 26-year-old architect triumphed over 16 other women to take home the crown.

“I’m so happy and excited. I feel so grateful and blessed on winning my first international crown. Of course, I did not win this alone, I have the whole Philippines with me,” said Anie who also works as a freelance model.

In addition to winning Miss Chinese World, Anie clinched the ONE DOC Miss Charm subsidiary award.

She said her strategy to beat the competition was to stay focused and grounded.

“Giving my fullest capability with passion and determination on every segment of the competition is also the reason why I have won the crown.”

I learn Chinese from my family, since I have relatives residing in China. And I was able to practice it more during my high school days since I attended a Chinese school.

“Winning the Miss Chinese World title is a very big achievement for me. I would use my title to promote and share my knowledge of the rich Chinese culture and traditions to everyone.

“I see myself as someone who will be more active in the Chinese community not just in my country, the Philippines, but also in all countries that I will go,” she said.
