BYD Malaysia hosted a memorable Festive Get Together – BYD DENZA Media Appreciation to celebrate industry camaraderie and thank media practitioners for their valued support throughout the years at Vox Live Kuala Lumpur in Naza Tower @ Platinum Park on February 27, 2026.
The evening began with a prayer and iftar (breaking the fast) in observance of Ramadan, and followed an hour later by a Chinese New Year Yee Sang tossing ceremony, sharing in feasts and celebrations in a heartwarming display of multicultural harmony.
Guests enjoyed a lavish feast buffet, featuring an extensive spread of dishes, including Breaded Aubergine with Marinara Sauce, Linguine Gamberri Arrabiata, Caesar Salmon Avocado Salad, sweet chicken skewers, chicken briyani, Angus beef satay, oxtail soup and whole roasted lamb.
The evening provided an engaging, relaxed environment for key company officials from BYD and Sime Darby Motors, and media personnel from various outlets to foster camaraderie and strengthen relationships.
The inclusion of quizzes and lucky draws heightened the excitement, where several lucky media members won attractive prizes, including DJI-Osmo Mobile 7P, Sony 5.1 Channel Home Cinema with wireless rear speakers, Nothing Phone (3a) Blue and PlayStation 5 Digital Console, making the evening a joyful and memorable experience.
BYD Malaysia managing director Eagle Zhao expressed appreciation and congratulations to media practitioners for their dedicated roles in providing information to the public.
BYD Malaysia has achieved significant sales milestones in just under three years with combined sales of BYD and its luxury sub-brand Denza reaching over 28,500 vehicles since entering the market in late 2022.
BYD has been the top-selling electric vehicle (EV) brand in Malaysia for three consecutive years. Its models, like the Seal (sedan), Atto 3 (SUV) and Dolphin (hatchback) have been among the best-selling EVs in the market.
BYD Sime Motors managing director Adeline Lew and BYD Malaysia deputy general manager Jacob Ma were also present at the event.
Sime Darby Motors is the official exclusive distributor of BYD electric vehicles in Malaysia.
