Animenia concert coming to JioSpace, PJ on Feb 3-4, 2024

Get ready, cosplay enthusiasts and lovers of anime, for a celebration of live anime music as Animenia, an anime-themed orchestral music extravaganza and cosplay event, is coming your way.

The debut performance is set to take place at JioSpace, an event venue, in Petaling Jaya on Feb 3 & 4, 2024.

Sharon Paul, a renowned award-winning Malaysian composer and producer and founder of Animenia, announced her most ambitious musical creation to date at a press conference held at the concourse of Sungei Wang Plaza in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 18, 2023.

“Animenia 2024 will focus on fusing together music and the cosplay community while celebrating anime from around the world. It will have activities for the whole family to enjoy, from the age of 9 onwards.

“We expect more than 3,000 anime and music fans to attend the festival over the two-day period,” she said.

The concert will feature a 48-piece ensemble consisting of an orchestra, four traditional music instruments, choir by Elcoro Ensemble and a backing band, along with the Malaysian artistes.

Among the featured artistes that will grace the stage at Animenia 2024 include Malaysian J-pop sensation Rina Hime, Asmidar, Riko SOG, Ariel Fesol and Nuim Mubarrak. Also to be featured will be professional prop maker and renowned cosplayer Abudora.

The event will also see a variety of activities, including an ACG exhibition and various competitions that include costume, cosplay skits, dance, anisong and Mobile Legends, a bazaar featuring cosplay products and food, and a tea dance featuring DJs to create a festive atmosphere.

Animenia 2024 is organized by Musicwerks, with funding by MyCreative Ventures and the support by the Communications Ministry.
