Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) bags the 2021 Malaysia Hospital Company of the Year at the first virtual Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Best Practices Awards held on 14 July.
SJMC, part of the Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Group, is being recognised for its excellence in three areas which Frost & Sullivan deems as “imperatives” in the digital health industry: Transformative Mega Trends, Disruptive Technologies, and Innovative Business Models.
Trish Hogan, chief executive officer of SJMC, said, “Celebrating our 36th year in healthcare, the prestigious Frost & Sullivan award is testament to our years of being a trailblazer with multiple firsts in the industry and a deep commitment to exemplary cancer care and high patient care standards.”
Hogan commented that the dedicated team of doctors and staff at SJMC will remain steadfast in serving the community by working through challenging circumstances to provide excellent healthcare services both locally and internationally.
Among SJMC’s achievements is the launch of next-generation sequencing to enable targeted cancer therapies. The hospital also launched telehealth services for patients amid the Covid-19 pandemic to give online consultations and support sessions, including speech therapists and clinical psychologists.
In addition, the hospital has the Joint Commission International accreditation and certification, which is recognised as a global standard for superior quality of healthcare and patient safety.
Honouring exceptional industry leaders for the past 19 years, the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Best Practices Awards aims to recognize industries practicing visionary innovation, outstanding customer care and world class performance. The company undertakes an extensive evaluation process in selecting winners for each award category.
