Tohtonku launches BaseUp: Redefining modern health starting at the base

Personal and skin care company Tohtonku has officially launched BaseUp, a new wellness brand in Malaysia focused on addressing stress-related health issues, including skin appearance, gut health, hormonal balance and sleep quality, with a “Wellness Starts at the Base” philosophy.

Launched on March 31, 2026 at Arena Watsons Headquarters Kuala Lumpur, the brand offers four scientifically backed, halal-certified liquid supplements for beauty, weight management and vitality, designed for easy consumption,

The launch marked a pivotal milestone for Tohtonku as it expands into the wellness and health category, leveraging over 60 years of experience in personal care and beauty (including brands like Nutox, Nanowhite, Follow Me, Ubermen, Koolfever and Ammeltz Yoko Yoko) and a strong ecosystem of resources to address the changing needs of consumers.

Citing recent reports, the company said 54.4% of Malaysian adults are overweight or obese – the highest in Southeast Asia – while 33.8% report symptoms of insomnia.

Additionally, data from Malaysia’s National Cancer Registry shows that skin cancers account for 2.6% of all reported cases, reflecting broader lifestyle-related health challenges faced by the population.

Stress does not only remain in the mind – it manifests physically, affecting gut health, sleep quality, hormonal balance and even the skin. While many solutions focus on addressing symptoms, BaseUp targets health at its foundation by addressing root causes from within, at the base, aiming for long-term health and stability.
