Raya festivities have arrived at Genting Highlands to celebrate the season as Resorts World Genting (RWG) unleashes a festive, radiant celebration through vibrant decorations, underscoring the beauty of familial ties and Malay heritage.
The Fuuuhhh! Jom Raya Kaw Kaw theme, which extends into RWG’s Kimhua Atrium and Resorts World Awana (RWA), runs from now till April 14, 2024.
Raya Kaw Kaw with Instagram-able decorations
RWG accentuates the festive mood with a cornucopia of modernity-meets-tradition-inspired decorations in green, teal, pink and yellow with multi-coloured blooms and an Instagram-able mini pavilion of Moorish design at Kimhua Atrium. You may see giant ketupats and boldly-coloured traditional kites or waus hanging from the ceiling.
At Resorts World Awana’s Atrium, opposite the Golf Terrace, the ivory-coloured metal squares and frames are adorned with white roses, ornamental plants and foliage. The Instagram-able festive-themed horticultural exhibit is sure to ignite the interest of green panthers, nature-loving families and photography enthusiasts.
Festive shows and entertainment
Guests can look forward to being regaled with fabulous entertainment as dancers take to the stage with the Raya Raya Show happening from 2:30pm daily at Kimhua Atrium from now till April 14, 2024.
There are also the Meriah Raya Performances and a Ketupat mascot meet and greet session from 1:00pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm and 7:00pm daily from April 5 till 14, 2024.
Genting’s Highland Heroes in Raya-inspired garb will also meet and greet kids from 2:00pm, 5:00pm and 8:00pm daily from now until 14 April, 2024.
Raya festive shopping
Visitors can indulge in a spot of shopping and bring home perfume, an assortment of candies, seasonal snacks and more from The Perfume Hub, Coffeepii, Piitapii, Travel For All and DEI at the Raya mini bazaar located at Kimhua Atrium from now till April 14, 2024.
Raya feast
You can choose from a wide range of gastronomic options from local to international cuisine, and dine to your hearts’ content.
There is the super value Raya set of nasi impit, lemang, kuah kacang, sayur lodeh, ayam rendang, bergedil tauhu and more at RM25nett per pax for 2 pax, only at Jom Makan, SkyAvenue Level G, from April 10 till 14, 2024, 12noon till 9pm.
Meanwhile, Jom Makan Street Food, Level 4 is offering a set of Nasi Ayam Panggang, Bubur Kacang Hijau and a glass of chilled drink at RM35nett.
Take home a taste of tradition with Flavours of Genting’s newest creations, “Onde-Onde cookies” and “Dates with Almond cookies” each in a box of 12 at RM28 for GRC members and RM35 for non-members, available only at Flavours of Genting kiosks at The Bakery and First World Hotel lobby.
Middle Eastern cuisine
Guests can head to AYU Awana at Resorts World Awana for the Nasi Arab Dulang, featuring a selection of Lamb Shank, Oxtail Stew, Charcoal Grilled Tilapia and Lebanese Baked Chicken available only on the Selera AYU dinner menu from now till April 14, 2024 6:00pm till 10:30pm.
Enhance the gastronomic experience with side dishes such as Raita, Arabic Salsa, aromatic Kabsa Rice, Lemon Tahini Grilled Vegetables and Arabian-style desserts like Balah El Sham and Aish El Saraya.
