Three-time Grammy winner, Shaffer Chimere Smith or Ne-Yo wowed 2,900 fans at his ‘Ne-Yo Live In Malaysia’ concert held at the Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Jan 21, 2023.

Organized by Hitman Solutions and Happymoon, the concert saw the 43-year-old singer performed over 20 songs, accompanied by a four-member live band and three backup dancers.

“Simply energetic! We were on our feet the entire time and Ne-Yo definitely brought the house down with his nostalgic songs which brought back memories from our younger days,” said a concert-goer.

Hitman Solutions founder and chief executive officer Rohit Rampal said Ne-Yo exceeded all expectations by giving a fantastic and mind-blowing performance.

“Although the Plenary Hall was a seated venue, it was no obstacle for Ne-Yo’s fans to dance along with his upbeat numbers,” he said.

The night kicked-off with Ne-Yo belting out his biggest hit, ‘Miss Independent’ and followed by ‘She Knows’, ‘Because of You’, ‘One In A Million’ and others.

Then he showcased his soulful vocals through the acoustic segment while singing songs such as ‘Do You’, ‘Mad’ and ‘You Should Let Me Love You’, followed by several other segments.

Concert-goers were definitely on their feet throughout the 80 minutes of performance because there was no idle moment from Ne-Yo who performed not only his own songs but also musical compositions for which he created for other famous singers showing a different side of him as a talented songwriter and composer.

“We chose Ne-Yo because of his large fanbase in Malaysia, many of his R&B numbers with the element of hip-hop which he is famously known for still resonate until now.

“Ne-Yo’s ability to interact with the audience was spectacular because he managed to capture everyone’s attention throughout the night and kept everyone on their feet.

“Fans of all ages sang along to his songs, bringing back that nostalgic feeling of being youthful again,” said Happymoon founder and chief executive officer Kesavan Purusotmanor.
