15 Hong Kong new comic artists will showcase their unique work at Comic Fiesta, Malaysia’s largest comic market and pop culture event, in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on December 17-18, 2022.
The Hong Kong Comics Pavilion at Comic Fiesta 2022 will exhibit the artists’ original comics with their personalized styles and original ideas.
The 15 participating Hong Kong artists (with their comics title) are:
- Tsang Wai Man (The Zeros)
- Liu Kwong Cho (The Cat Mask)
- Kuma Chan (Crash)
- Kwong Chi Kit (The Architect’s Epiphany)
- Keung Chi Kit (Pandola)
- Mimi Tsoi (The Land of Ming-Yi)
- Jerry CHO (Naraka Warrior)
- Alice Ma (Cloud and Meteor in the Sky 1)
- Stella So (The Hong Kong Stories)
- Andy Seto (Cyber Phoenix)
- Pen So (See You In Memories)
- Mimi Szeto (A Little Step 1)
- Sam Tse (The Last Soul – Overland 1)
- Chivas Leung (Night Night)
- Cheung Hon Wah (My Soul Mate).
The artists will also showcase their works at the CSP Comics Exhibition at Cite Book Garden bookstore in Sri Petaling from December 18 to January 1, 2023, where an autograph session will be held at 8.30pm on Dec 18 to meet with Malaysia fans and representatives of comics industry.
The artists are participants of the HK Comics Support Programme (CSP) organized by the Hong Kong Comics and Animation Federation (HKCAF) with the support of Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as the main sponsor.
The delegation to Malaysia will be led by CSP vetting committee chairman Ma Wing-shing and HKCAF vice president Alan Wan.
The CSP aims to nurture talents and support Hong Kong comics start-ups in creating brand-new original comics, through providing comprehensive supports, including trainings, mentoring and subsidies for production and promotion.
15 brand-new comic books, rich in a variety of themes and styles, have been launched in July 2022. They have received excellent reviews and been regarded as a new force to Hong Kong comic industry.
