With Hari Raya Aidilfitri just around the corner, Yayasan MR DIY, the philanthropic arm of MR D.I.Y. Group Berhad, is ensuring that the spirit of togetherness and generosity reaches as many people as possible.

Through its ‘Raya Penuh Makna’ initiative, the foundation recently visited Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera, an orphanage in Kuala Lumpur, for a Buka Puasa gathering.

Before breaking fast, volunteers engaged the children with games and Hari Raya decorations.

The foundation presented the home with ‘Raya Penuh Makna’ care boxes filled with Hari Raya decorations and daily essentials, along with RM3,000 worth of MR DIY cash vouchers.

Yayasan MR DIY chief executive officer Zaleha Mohd Mydin stated: “At Yayasan MR DIY, we believe in making celebrations meaningful for everyone. ‘Raya Penuh Makna’ reflects our commitment to supporting local communities and spreading kindness. These initiatives strengthen bonds, foster unity, and ensure that no one feels left out during this special time.”

In addition to the visit, Yayasan MR DIY extended its support to 13 other charitable homes across the country, delivering ‘Raya Penuh Makna’ care boxes filled with essential items.

The Foundation also embraced the tradition of sharing by distributing bubur lambuk to commuters. A total of 400 servings were handed out at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), while 100 servings were distributed at the Semantan and Kota Damansara stations.

The bubur lambuk at TBS was prepared in collaboration with volunteers and the Masjid Taman Bukit Belimbing committee, reinforcing the spirit of community and generosity.

“We are grateful to the charity homes and organisations for welcoming us and allowing us to share this special moment with them.  A heartfelt thank you also goes out to our dedicated volunteers for their tireless efforts in bringing ‘Raya Penuh Makna’ to life.  We hope this brings joy and happiness to those celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” added Zaleha.
