In the spirit of Deepavali, health and beauty retailer Watsons Malaysia has once again demonstrated its commitment to community support through its “Watsons Radiate Diwali Vibes” corporate social responsibilities initiative.
This year, the special event was held at SJK (T) Kampung Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together students, teachers, families and the local community to celebrate Deepavali, the Hindu festival of lights.
“Deepavali is a time for unity, joy and giving, and we are thrilled to be able to share this moment with the wonderful students, teachers and families here at SJK (T) Kampung Pandan.
“At Watsons, we believe in the power of community and the importance of celebrating together while giving back,” said Watsons Malaysia managing director and Health & Beauty Asia, A.S. Watson Group chief operating officer Caryn Loh.
Deepavali is a festival of immense cultural and religious significance for the Hindu community, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness, and is a time for family reunions and festivities.
Watsons Malaysia, in collaboration with the school, organized a series of activities aimed at honouring this special occasion while fostering community spirit.
The highlights of the event included an opening performance by the students, a traditional Rangoli lighting ceremony, and health and beauty products distribution to 50 families celebrating the festival of lights.
The event also featured interactive workshops, including an ubtan powder workshop, a scented candle DIY session, a health talk to students, and a health check for parents, teachers and staffs.
Also present to support the occasion were Watsons Malaysia Chief Operating Officer Danny Hoh and the Watsons sustainability team.
The contribution reflects Watsons’ ongoing commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of underserved communities, especially during festive occasions like Deepavali.
By spreading light and love to schools and homes, Watsons Malaysia aims to brighten the festive season and radiate Diwali vibes, ensuring that everyone can experience the joy and togetherness that Diwali represents.
