VitaHealth has announced the appointment of Asia’s No. 1 pickleball player Colin Wong as its brand ambassador, joining Olympian badminton icon Pearly Tan championing health, resilience and inspiration, and motivating Malaysians to adopt healthier and more active lifestyles.
The Malaysian pickleball athlete was unveiled during the “Offline 16: Jingle Smash with Ambassadors” event held at Hyprground Pickleball S19 in Petaling Jaya on Dec 29, 2024.
The event, an initiative dedicated to mental wellness and fitness, was part of VitaHealth’s groundbreaking Offline 16 series, a movement that aligns with the brand’s ESG commitment to foster mental wellness and build meaningful community connections.
Dr KS Beh, the chief executive officer of VitaHealth Malaysia and Singapore, stated during the event: “As a company committed to improving quality of life, we understand the need to address the growing mental health challenges of today. Offline 16 was inspired by the need for individuals to reconnect with themselves and others.
“With ambassadors like Pearly Tan and Colin Wong, we continue to lead the way in transforming lives through health and fitness.”
The event challenged participants to stay offline for four hours, offering a refreshing digital detox that encouraged face-to-face interactions without the use of mobile devices, providing a refreshing break from the digital world, which is increasingly linked to rising stress and mental health concerns.
The day was filled with offline activities, including pickleball training sessions, friendly tournaments and sports recovery sessions led by expert chiropractor and physiotherapist.
Colin Wong, a seasoned player and certified IPTPA Level 2 coach shared top-notch coaching tips and valuable insights into how pickleball enhances physical health, while maintaining a focus on holistic well-being.
“Partnering with VitaHealth allows me to further promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, and what better way than through pickleball, a sport that brings people together in such an exciting way,” said Colin Wong.
“As VitaHealth’s brand ambassador, I’m excited to inspire individuals to prioritise both their physical fitness and mental health.”
Pearly Tan also spoke about the event: “It’s incredible to see how sports can bring people together to improve both physical fitness and mental well-being. Offline 16 truly demonstrates the power of real connections, and I am honoured to be a part of this incredible movement.”
