Verdant Solar Sdn Bhd broke the record once again with its official recognition in the Malaysia Book of Records 2025 for achieving the “Most Solar PV System Home Installations in a Year”, making it an impressive third consecutive year the company has attained this honour.
The milestone reaffirms Verdant Solar’s leadership in Malaysia’s renewable energy sector, as the company continues to drive widespread adoption of sustainable energy solutions.
In 2024, Verdant Solarinstalled over 3,148 solar systems, more than doubling its previous record from 2023. The achievement reflects the growing demand for solar energy in Malaysia, where homeowners are increasingly turning to renewable solutions to counter rising electricity costs and contribute to environmental preservation.
The company said its efforts have resulted in a total installed capacity of 50,172 kWp, generating RM41 million in annual electricity bill savings and reducing 48,126 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
The certificate of recognition was presented to Zeth Lim, Verdant Solar CEO during the award ceremony that was held on March 13, 2025 at the Plenary Theatre, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, in conjunction with Homedec KL 2025.
The presentation was witnessed by Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung in his capacity as Authority Member of the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) Malaysia, a statutory body under the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation
Speaking at the event, Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung commended Verdant Solar’s contributions to the renewable energy landscape.
“Malaysia’s transition towards renewable energy is not just an environmental necessity but an economic opportunity.
“Verdant Solar’s milestone is a testament to how innovation and accessibility can accelerate solar adoption among homeowners.
“By empowering Malaysians with smart solutions and cleaner energy alternatives, we are taking a significant step towards a greener, more sustainable future.
“I commend Verdant Solar for its leadership in driving this change and setting new benchmarks for the industry,” he said.
At the award ceremony, Verdant Solar launched its Verdant Homeapp, a smart energy management tool designed to help homeowners monitor and optimise their solar energy consumption.
The app features a solar savings calculator which estimates potential savings and recommends system sizes, along with a custom proposal generator that allows users to input electricity details, visualise panel placement and receive an automated system design.
Once installed, homeowners can access real-time solar performance monitoring, track energy production trends, and gain personalised energy and fiscal saving insights, all on a single platform.
The app also offers step-by-step customer journey tracking, which provides real-time updates on installation progress. An integrated customer support chat ensures users receive prompt assistance with troubleshooting, maintenance and inquiries.
Additionally, a referral program allows users to share unique referral links with friends and family, earning rewards when referrals sign up for Verdant Solar’sservices.
Aiming to curate a seamless, intelligent closed-loop ecosystem, the app will also integrate smarter energy management features, reinforcing Verdant Solar’smission to provide comprehensive, sustainable and future-ready energy solutions for Malaysians.
Verdant Solar CEO Zeth Lim said: “At Verdant Solar, innovation is not just about technology – it’s about putting customers at the heart of everything we do. And this is only the beginning.”
He continued, “The Verdant Home app makes solar energy management more accessible, transparent and rewarding, giving Malaysians greater control over their investment while encouraging a shift towards sustainable living.
“We will continue raising the bar for customer experience in the solar industry, ensuring that every Malaysian homeowner gets the service, quality, and care they deserve.”
Verdant Solar’s latest achievements mark a significant step forward in Malaysia’s clean energy transition, reaffirming its commitment to shaping a future where solar power is the natural choice for homeowners.
With sustainability at its core, Verdant Solar envisions a nation where every household harnesses the power of the sun, driving Malaysia towards a cleaner, greener, and more energy-independent future.
As Verdant Solar embarks its journey toward sustainable energy solutions nationwide, the company is set to expand its presence to key cities, including Ipoh, Kuantan and Melaka, bringing their expertise in sustainable energy closer to more homeowners and businesses, and enabling greater accessibility to solar solutions.
Also in the works is the introduction of Verdant Solar’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), a game-changing addition that enhances energy efficiency and reliability. With BESS, customers can store excess solar energy for later use, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply while optimising cost savings.
