Ultraman fans in Malaysia were in for a treat as Ultraman The Ultra Tour officially kicked off at Sunway Pyramid in Subang Jaya on Feb 27, 2025.
The launch event, officiated by Finas chairman Dato’ Kamil Othman, received Asean Records recognition for its success in gathering a record-breaking 270 Ultraman fans in Malaysia.
“The significance of this collaboration extends to the global promotion of intellectual properties. As we celebrate Ultraman’s legacy here in Malaysia, we are reminded of the importance of fostering international collaborations to enhance the reach and impact of creative content,” said Kamil.
“Intellectual properties like Ultraman have shaped global pop culture, and this event showcases how Malaysia can be a thriving destination for such partnerships.”
The Ultra Tour, a collaboration between Tsuburaya Fields Entertainment International Pte Ltd, One Universal Production Sdn Bhd and Sunway Malls, brings together generations of fans to celebrate the iconic Ultra Heroes with a thrilling lineup of activities and immersive experiences.
Yuki Totsuka, the Japanese actor portraying Yuma Hize/Ultraman Arc, made a special appearance during the launch event, engaging with fans in an exclusive meet-and-greet session.
“Ultraman has been a part of so many childhoods, and it’s amazing to see how the love for this iconic hero continues to grow.
“This collaboration with Tsuburaya Fields Entertainment International and Sunway Malls isn’t just about an event – it’s about creating unforgettable memories for fans of all ages while strengthening the cultural bond between Malaysia and Japan,” said One Universal Production chief executive officer Alvin Lee.
The Ultra Tour will take fans on an unforgettable journey across seven Sunway malls, featuring Ultra Heroes meet-and-greet sessions, an Ultraman-themed Inflatable Playland, fun activities such as the Gigabash Game Demo, and a wide variety of exclusive Ultraman merchandise.
Fans can also look forward to exclusive Ultraman-themed merchandise, ranging from apparel and toys to collectibles and limited-edition items, available at Sunway Malls.
After Sunway Pyramid, the tour will make stops at:
- Sunway Putra Mall, Kuala Lumpur
- Sunway Carnival Mall, Seberang Jaya, Penang
- Sunway 163 Mall, Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur
- Sunway Velocity Mall, Kuala Lumpur
- Sunway Big Box Retail Park, Iskandar Puteri, Johor
- Sunway Kluang Mall, Kluang, Johor
The event also embraced the spirit of Ramadan by giving back to the community.
Two orphanages, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rumah Pengasih Warga Prihatin and Persatuan Kebajikan Pusat Jagaan Rumah Kasih Harmoni Paya Jaraswere were each presented with a contribution of RM2,500 to aid them in preparing for the upcoming holy month.
This act of giving reflects Ultraman’s values of compassion and unity, reinforcing the event’s commitment to making a positive social impact alongside its entertainment offerings.
