Tropicana Corporation Berhad, via its charity arm Tropicana Foundation, is organizing its annual donation drive called ‘Buggy of Joy’ to collect dry goods and cash for underprivileged homes in the Klang Valley.
Tropicana Group managing director Dion Tan said the initiative promotes the joy of rallying the community and its employees together in challenging times to give back to the underprivileged community.
“If there is a time to show the true spirit of Christmas, it is by giving and spreading joy during these challenging times. In conjunction with the upcoming festive season, we are kick-starting this donation drive earlier in the hope to collect more essential items for the underprivileged community. We urge the public to help us brighten the lives of others during this season of giving,” he said.
Back for the second year, the Buggy of Joy donation drive got off to a good start with a generous contribution from a Tropicana’s employee Samuel Tan.
He said the contribution is part of his family’s annual Thanksgiving contribution this year.
“Life has been difficult for many communities due to the pandemic. I hope Tropicana will keep up with its excellent work of supporting the needy and reach out to more communities,” he said.
Samuel’s family contributed 10,000 disposable face masks, 600 packs of instant noodles and 1,000 packs of instant coffee.
The general public can contribute to the Buggy of Joy by making donation of essential dry goods at centre course of Tropicana Gardens Mall in Tropicana Indah, Petaling Jaya from Nov 10 to Dec 22, 2021.
Dry goods may include the following:
Bulk dry goods – rice, oatmeal, noodles, biscuits, pasta
Beverages – Coffee, milk powder, tea, baby milk
Halal canned food – Sardine, baked beans, canned mushroom
Cooking essentials – Salt, sugar, cooking oil, flour
Healthcare products – Masks, sanitisers, cleaning solutions, toothpaste
