Tropicana teams up with Uncle Kentang to donate fresh fish to needy families in Klang Valley

Tropicana Corporation Berhad, through its charity arm Tropicana Foundation, has teamed up with social activist and philanthropist Kuan Chee Heng, more fondly known as Uncle Kentang, to donate over 1,000 kg of silver catfishes (ikan patin) to 628 underprivileged households in the Klang Valley.

Tropicana Corp executive director Foo Ken Nee said the company is committed to helping improve lives and support the community.

“It is our long-standing commitment to support and alleviate the life of our community.

“We are very happy to co-host this charity initiative with Kuan Chee Heng or affectionately known as Uncle Kentang as this donation will go towards helping 628 families across Klang Valley.

“Fish is an important source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids and iron. Tropicana Foundation is committed to helping Malaysia build healthy, vibrant communities,” he said.

The Tropicana team worked together with its resort development Tropicana Golf & Country Resort and agriculture arm Greenhouse Farm & Fishery to clean, wrap and pack the fishes to retain freshness and flavour.
