Tropicana Foundation, a charity arm of Tropicana Corporation Berhad extended its support through contribution of daily essential food packs to 230 underprivileged families in Langkawi, recently.

The donation was channelled through Pusat Kawalan Operasi Bencana (PKOB) Langkawi, Pusat Jagaan Pertubuhan Anjung Kasih (Boys’ Home) and Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Komuniti Kampung (JPKK) Kampung Ewa which distributed the food supplies to the families.

Tropicana group managing director Dion Tan expressed his support for the foundation’s ongoing charity initiatives and stressed the importance of providing relief to underprivileged society in Langkawi.

“As a community builder, it is our long-standing commitment to serve and improve lives. With many facing challenges at the Langkawi district, we want to do our bit to help alleviate hunger and do good together for our communities. With our small donations, we hope to help to stock up their pantry and provide some relief to the children and old folks,” he said.

The essentials and bags were packed at Tropicana Cenang sales gallery which served as the collection centre with the strict compliance of the standard operating procedure at all times.

“Together with our Langkawi management team, we organized and handed over 1,500 kg worth of essential food packs ranging from rice, cooking oil, canned food, instant noodles, eggs, biscuits, Milo packets, sugar and rice vermicelli. These supplies will provide nourishment and food resources for a month,” Tan added.

Tropicana has expanded its footprint to Langkawi with the introduction of its latest Tropicana Cenang seafront serviced suites.
