Hundreds of fitness enthusiasts took over the serene green landscapes Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (TGCR) for the annual TGCR Nite Race on October 1, 2022.
The fun run saw more than 250 fitness enthusiasts coming together to exercise as well as to enjoy cool evening breeze and panoramic vistas of the Tropicana golf club at night.
Launched in 2010, the annual TGCR Night Race was the first of its kind organised by a golf club in a golf course.
Tropicana Golf & Country Resort general manager Sharudin Kamarudin said its signature TGCR Nite Run event finally returns this year after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We are excited to revive this tradition as part of our core mission in redefining the art of healthy living.
“It is gratifying to see the strong community support and turnout for the event, right here at the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort where Tropicana’s journey began,” he said.
The TGCR Nite Race catered for diverse ages and fitness levels with 5km and 8km fun runs.
Runners were grouped into three race categories, namely the 5km (Boys & Girls, 13-17 years), 8km (Men & Ladies, Open, 18-44 years) and 5km (Men & Ladies, Open, 45 years and above).
The signature event saw high-spirited families and fun seekers competing for cash prizes worth up to RM500 while enjoying the cool evening breeze and panoramic vistas of the golf club at night.
Winners in each category received a medal for their achievement. Participants also won prizes in a lucky draw, such as a flight ticket to Vietnam and vouchers from Focus Point, Komugi and McDonald’s.
Established in 1992, the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort offers country living with city convenience, set within a lush oasis spanning 625 acres in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
