Tropicana Corporation Berhad has pledged support to the government’s efforts to make the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) a success in flattening the Covid-19 curve.

From 1 July 2021, the Tropicana Gardens Mall Convention Centre at Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya will be one of the five large vaccination centres or Pusat Pemberian Vaksin (PPV) in Selangor hosting the Selangor Covid-19 Vaccination Programme or Program Vaksin Selangor (SelVax).

Tropicana Corporation group managing director Dion Tan said the government’s focus to accelerate the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme was very much needed in ensuring all citizens regardless of background receive their Covid-19 vaccine shots.

“We responded swiftly to the country’s initiative towards herd immunity and showcased our continued support to our country’s leaders, and we are proud to be a part of SelVax,” Dion said.

The SelVax is a vaccination initiative launched by the Selangor state government to support PICK to help accelerate the national immunisation programme, besides ensuring all citizens receive their Covid-19 vaccine jabs.

Dion and group executive director Jared Ethan Ang gave thanks to Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari for his strong support and concurred that the positive synergy would re-energise the country’s wellness and economic sector.

“Our team has worked tirelessly around the clock for weeks to facilitate SelVax. We have also deployed all our team members throughout the country to promote the national vaccination exercise through offline and online platforms,” said Ang, adding the group had committed more than RM1 million in utilities, operations, logistics and manpower costs.

“To ensure Tropicana is a conducive and safe place to live, work and prosper, we will also extend Covid-19 vaccination across our Tropicana ecosystem.”

Ang said all Tropicana workforces in Tropicana Hq, Tropicana Gardens Mall, Tropicana Golf & Clubhouse, W Kuala Lumpur Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Hotel and Tropicana Property Management that have not been vaccinated will be signed up for this program.

“With this vaccination in place, we are certain that our Tropicana community will once again be revitalised and safe for all,” said Ang.

SelVax will be jointly operated by Selgate, a subsidiary of the Selangor state government, and ProtectHealth, a non-profit subsidiary of the Ministry of Health (MOH).

Selgate Healthcare Sdn Bhd has been mandated to implement the SelVax as a support measure to PICK.
