Tropicana Corporation Berhad (Tropicana) via its charity arm Tropicana Foundation, recently donated a total of RM690,000 to four institutions in Johor to support the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement, Tropicana said it reached out to the Johor community and made the donations with the aim to combat and flatten the Covid-19 infection curve:
- RM300,000 to the Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor
- RM300,000 to Tabung Bencana Negeri Johor
- RM10,000 to Majlis Perbandaran Pontian
- Purchase of 6 units of Electrocardiogram (ECG) machine worth a total of RM80,000 to Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Johor
“We hope with our contributions and the medical machines will provide more aid to hospitals and the community. Now more than ever, all of us should stand united to fight this pandemic and return to our normal lives soon,” said Tropicana group CEO Lee Han Ming.
According to the statement, the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar expressed his appreciation to Tropicana Foundation for the contribution to Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor which consistently provides food aid every week as well as various other assistance and contributions to help all people in need.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad extended his appreciation to the efforts of Tropicana Foundation and hope the donations would help the Johor State Health Department to treat patients in need.
He hoped for more companies to emulate Tropicana’s effort and to fight the pandemic together to ensure the health of the people.
Tropicana Corporation Berhad enjoyed a strong presence in the Southern region with its two master-planned townships: Tropicana Danga Bay and Danga Cove.
Moving forward, the developer plans to unlock more landbank in Johor with the roll out of its first industrial park named as Tropicana Industrial Park in the third quarter of 2021. Aside from that, Tropicana also plans to roll out Tropicana Uplands, a vibrant mixed development in Gelang Patah and Lido Waterfront Boulevard, an iconic integrated waterfront development overlooking the Straits of Johor.
