Tourism Selangor unveils Visit Selangor Year 2025 at Selangor Travel Fair

Tourism Selangor organised its first Selangor Travel Fair, taking place from Nov 1 to 3, 2024 at the Orange Concourse, Sunway Pyramid shopping mall in Subang Jaya.

The three-day event targets over 20,000 visitors, including tourism industry professionals, tourists and the general public.

The event, as a prelude to Visit Selangor Year 2025, aims to showcase Selangor’s rich cultural heritage, tourism experiences and new attractions to both local and international visitors.

Selangor local government and tourism exco Dato’ Ng Suee Lim officiated the launch of Selangor Travel Fair 2024 and pre-launch of Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign on Nov 2.

He said the Visit Selangor Year 2025 will be further enlivened with various interesting events and programs, with more than 100 events to be held in each district of Selangor.

“With the full support of various government and private agencies, Selangor will be able to shape the tourism industry in Malaysia and further achieve the targeted tourist arrivals of up to eight million tourists in 2025 and reaching the tourism expenditure receipts target of RM 11.7 billion,” he said.

Also present were Tourism Selangor chief executive officer Azrul Shah Mohamad, state executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah and Tourism Malaysia deputy director-general Lee Thai Hung.

Tourism Selangor chief executive officer Azrul Shah Mohamad said the Selangor Travel Fair will be the best platform to boost domestic tourism in Malaysia.

“Selangor has received the highest number of visitors in Malaysia for three consecutive years, with the number of domestic visitors reaching 22 million in 2023.

“We believe that the Selangor state government’s mission to attract eight million tourists by the Visit Selangor Year 2025 can be achieved, especially with the cooperation of government and private agencies,” he said.

All thumbs up as the stage is set for the upcoming Visit Selangor Year 2025.

The logo and theme song for the Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign was also launched at the event. Singer Aizat Amdan performed at the event singing the theme song for Visit Selangor Year 2025.

With Journify by Malaysia Aviation Group as a key partner, the fair features exclusive travel deals valued at over RM200,000.

The collaboration provides an enriched platform to highlight Selangor’s vibrant tourism offerings and foster connections with both the public and industry professionals.

Supported by Tourism Malaysia and the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta), the event is set to make a significant impact on the local tourism landscape.

The event features over 20 tourism attractions offering exclusive travel deals, discounts and packages that highlight Selangor’s attractions for all types of travelers.

Visitors to the Selangor Travel Fair are also served with interactive activities like lucky draws, workshops and traditional performances.

Participants at the fair include SplashMania Waterpark, Skyline Luge, Gamuda Land, Jumpstreet Asia Malaysia, Farm in the City and Eastin Hotel.
