KUALA LUMPUR – The 20 contestants aged 19 to 26 from all over the country will compete at the grand final at Galaxy Banquet Hall, Kuala Lumpur on 12th March
The 2017 edition of Supermodel International Malaysia unveiled its Top 20 finalists at a press conference at EZ9 Live House Whisky & Wine Bar on 16th Dec 2016.
The 20 contestants aged 19 to 26 from all over the country will compete at the grand final at Galaxy Banquet Hall, Kuala Lumpur on 12th March. The winner will represent Malaysia at the 7th Supermodel International World Final 2017 which will take place in Delhi, India on 22nd April.
Speaking at a press conference, reigning Supermodel International 2016 Josephine Tan from Malaysia said she wished to inspire more young Malaysian ladies to challenge themselves in reaching out to the world as she has proven that it’s not impossible to have their dreams come true if they dare to dream.
Josephine Tan is the first Malaysian winner of Supermodel International 2016. She has been in the modeling industry for nearly a decade and finished in Top 6 at Asia’s Next Top Model Season 2 and the winner of Miss Malaysia Earth 2013.
Adding the glitz to the event were special guest Hong Kong artist Tony and a line-up of beauty queens who included Miss Malaysia Earth – Eco Tourism 2014 Adelina Chan, Supermodel International Malaysia 2012 Jacqueline Yap, Miss Grand Malaysia 2014 Jane Koo and Miss KL Earth – Water 2015 Yoyo Lee.
During the event, members of the media and guests present voted their favourite model for the Media Choice Award. After the votes were casted and counted, it was announced 18-year-old Goh Ee Yin from Puchong, Selangor was the winner of Media Choice Award.
The Subsidiary Title awards for Supermodel International Malaysia 2017 will be held at Summit USJ on 26th Feb 2017.
