The Marini’s Group brought festive cheer to its guests and friends with Chinese New Year open house events and activities at its five food and beverage (F&B) outlets on Feb 21-22, 2024.
The group, which is known for its award-winning F&B and entertainment brands, kicked off its festive celebrations on Feb 21 with dragon and lion dance performances and God of Prosperity appearances at M Marini Grand Caffè & Terrazza and MariGin at One KL in Jalan Pinang, Kuala Lumpur in the early evening.
The festive entourage then proceeded to Marble 8 and the company’s open house party at Marini’s on 57 at Petronas Tower 3 at KLCC after sundown.
Cavaliere Modesto Marini and Elizabeth Marini, the owners of The Marini’s Group, were present to receive the traditional prosperity fruit basket from the performers at each venue.
“Chinese New Year is a time of celebration and harmony and also a showcase of cultural heritage. The Marini’s Group is excited to be able to share all of that with its guests and friends and we hope that the Year of the Dragon brings good luck, abundance and good health to everyone,” said Modesto Marini.
The festive merriment continued on Feb 22 with a Chinese New Year open house party and Fashionista showcase at Maristar, located at The Starhill, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.
The event also featured dragon and lion dance performances, a God of Prosperity appearance and a live runway fashion show.
Malaysian Official Designers’ Association (MODA) designers Nancy Jullok (P’Lo), Key Ng (KN) and Moses Law (Tangoo) provided the delightful treat for the evening with their latest collections.
The fashion show segment opened with outfits from P’Lo by Nancy Jullok whose designs for the evening carried oriental and Borneo-inspired detail.
Key Ng then set a striking tone with pieces from his latest collection, Touch Red, which marries contemporary design with timeless elegance. Ng, who is known for his detailed and well-structured suits, featured a selection of men’s and women’s outfits that highlighted his aesthetic vision that is centred around the bold and powerful colour palette of red, blue, black, white and silver.
Closing the show on the Maristar runway for the evening was Tangoo – founded and owned by Eric Yeong and Moses Law – which is known for its design aesthetic that is influenced by the dramatic tango dance.
The fashion brand showcased fun, colourful pieces from its Chinese New Year 2024 and Spring Blooms collections which stood out boldly with traditional and Chinoiserie elements and eye-catching headgear.
