The Curve shopping mall in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya organized a memorable day for 28 underprivileged children during this blessed month by treating them with gifts and Ramadan buka puasa feast.
The children from Rumah Kesayangan Rukesa, an orphanage in Petaling Jaya, were welcomed with cozy kampung homes, a lush paddy field with scarecrows, and pangkin as they stepped into the mall’s centre court.
The centre court is decorated depicting a typical village setting in Malaysia, as part of the Curve’s Nostalgia Raya campaign, to ignite the kampung festive spirit.
At the event on April 5, 2023, the children were entertained to a specially choreographed dance performance by young dancers, aged between 9 and 13, given duit raya and goodie bag filled with baju raya, school bags and shoes contributed by the Curve.
Not only were the kids treated to gifts, but their caretakers also received hampers filled with grocery items.
“Our hearts are filled with joy as we witness these children experience the festive spirit and create memories that will last a lifetime. Today is their day, and we are grateful to have played a role in making it special for them,” said Boustead Properties Bhd property management and investment senior general manager Jazmi Kamarudin.
He added, “Every child deserves to experience the happiness of Hari Raya, and that is exactly what we had in mind when planning this day out for them. We hope to continue spreading the festive spirit and bringing smiles to the less fortunate while fostering a sense of community and compassion. This is a very special day for the Curve, and it is our privilege to give back to society and make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it the most.”
The day out ended when the children, along with the Curve management team, made their way to Me’nate Steak House for the buka puasa treat.
