Fans of the late Taiwanese songstress Teresa Teng who became the first true Chinese global music superstar in the 1970s and 1980s, can now engage with a virtual Teresa Teng at “2022 Teresa Teng The Legend Hologram Concert” at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting on October 29, 2022.
The legendary songstress from Taiwan whose crystal-clear vocals and gentle rendition of timeless classics such as “The Moon Represents My Heart”, “I Only Care About You”, “Sweet As Honey” and “May We Be Together Forever” has captivated music lovers from all over the world. Her untimely death in 1995 was mourned by her music followers.
The concert will be staged by Resorts World Genting in collaboration with Digital Domain, a California-based visual effects and digital production house to stage a unique concert using state-of-the-art holography.
Fans of the charismatic singer are in for a treat as Digital Domain has tapped into extensive archival footage of Teresa Teng and will “resurrect” her through AI-powered Virtual Human Technology.
Five guest performers will be performing alongside Teresa Teng. Three of whom represent the countries closest to her heart. en-Ray, Chang Chin Yu and Chan Ai Chia – known as Japan’s Teresa Teng, Taiwan’s Teresa Teng and Malaysia’s Teresa Teng, respectively. Each of these singers has carved out a career in emulating Teresa Teng’s tremulous and pristine vocals.
Joining the trio on stage will also be Terry Jiang Zhenkai, a popular Taiwanese male artist and TV variety show performer as well as two-time Grammy Award-winning American violinist Jamii Szmadzinski, who will put his unique instrumental spin on Teresa Teng classics with his electric violin.
