It’s that time of year again, and yes, International Ipoh Fashion Week (IIFW) is back for its season six – this time in Taiping taking place on July 19-20, 2024.
Organised by Bizzness Management Services, this year IIFW will be conducted in collaboration with Ipoh Hairdressing Association, Kolej Komuniti Batu Gajah and Perak Malayalee Association, with Majlis Perbandaran Taiping stepping on board as strategic partner, and Hotel Taiping Perdana as the official hotel venue sponsor.
The prestigious event is being held for the first time in Taiping in celebration of Taiping’s 150th anniversary under the theme “From Taiping with Love,” to commemorate the town’s rich heritage dating back to 1874.
“IIFW is poised to redefine fashion as a force for positive change. We are excited to bring together fashion, tourism, charity, and community once again, creating a platform where creativity meets compassion,” said Louis Sebastian, founder of IIFW during the launch event at Quest International University, Ipoh on June 7.
Sebastian added: “A passion of giving back to the society has always been an important part of IIFW social responsibility effort. This year IIFW2024 will raise funds to benefit Paediatric High Dependency Unit (PHDU) at Hospital Seri Manjung and animal welfare at Zoo Taiping.”
A Royal Charity Gala dinner to be graced by HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim will be held on July 19.
“IIFW has become a central platform of positioning Malaysia as a thriving emerging fashion capital by showcasing amazing Perak and Malaysian fashion talents as well as welcoming the world fashion to experience the wonders of Perak through fashion with a heart,” said Sebastian.
The event features runway shows from established and up-and-coming local and international designers from Malaysia, Singapore, China, Indonesia and Philippines.
Participating designers, fashion groups and brands taking the stage this season include Rette By Tianita, Puan Asperkraf, Batik Esty, D’ Manila Stylist Philippines, Haus of Borneo, Bajuux @ Gene Martino | Polo Haus, Tidalwave Beachware by ViQ, Khair Johari, Rohacraft and Kolej Komuniti Batu Gajah.

Royal Fashion with a Heart Royal Charity Gala Dinner at Perdana Ballroom, Hotel Taiping Perdana. Event will be graced by Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, along with members of the Royal Family.
The charity event will include a gala dinner, runway fashion show featuring the latest fashion trends and special performances by local favourite Ayu Damit and Malaysian violinist Martin Looi.
Street Fashion Show
(July 20, 5.30pm – 7pm)
Street Fashion Show supported by Majlis Perbandaran Taiping at Raintree Walk Lake Garden, Taiping. The Raintree Walk will be transformed into a runway for over 10 fashion designers, both local and international to showcase their amazing couture.
It will be a stunning visual feast with the models doing their catwalk over the beauty of the historical lake garden. The fashion show will be open to the public.
