STM Lottery Sdn Bhd has launched the 2025 edition of its Sports Toto “Laptops 4 Kids” Learning Program, reaffirming its commitment to education equity and environmental sustainability.

About 25 students received their laptops at the launching ceremony held at Smart Rental Malaysia’s headquarters, Kuala Lumpur recently.

This year, 110 refurbished laptops will be distributed to underprivileged primary school students from the lower income families in Selangor and Terengganu, provided on a one-year free rental basis through partnership with Sambong Future Foundation (SFF), an NGO run by Smart Rental Malaysia.

STM Lottery contributed RM50,000 to SFF which would handle the refurbishment, beneficiary selection and distribution of the laptops.

“Our goal is to give underprivileged children the tools they need to learn and dream of a better future,” said STM Lottery general manager (communications and sustainability) Giam Say Khoon.

“At the same time, the program helps reduce e-waste by giving old laptops a second life which is in-line with our sustainability commitment,” added Giam.

To mark the launch, SFF organised an engaging hands-on Canva session for the students, with social media influencers guiding them through fun and interactive lessons.

Now in its second year, the Sports Toto “Laptops 4 Kids” Learning Program has so far benefitted 220 students, combining equal learning opportunities with sustainable practices.
