The 6th edition of the Miss CosmoWorld pageant has been officially launched at Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur hotel on July 20, 2023.
Organized by CL Skin Sdn Bhd, Miss CosmoWorld 2023 intends to showcase exceptional young women who possess not only beauty but also intelligence, talents and prominence.
Carrie Lee, the founder of Miss CosmoWorld, stated during the launch event: “This event will give an opportunity to future beauty queens of different cultures to share, educate and learn from one another’s experiences and showcase their respective backgrounds.”
She added: “Beauty pageants also play a key role in the country’s tourism industry as these outstanding women act as ambassadors for the country, attracting tourists to explore its beauty and charm.
Lee, a beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Chinese Cosmo 2004, said Miss CosmoWorld 2023 will boast the biggest top-notch prize in pageant history, with a total amount worth RM1.1million (USD 250k), which includes cash, sponsored perks and benefits, up for grabs by the aspiring beauty queens.
The cash prize for world winner Miss CosmoWorld 2023 will receive USD 100,000 while the Malaysia winner of Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia 2023 will get a prize money of RM10,000
Present as guest of honour was Tengku Dato Dr Hishammuddin Zaizi, as well as Miss CosmoWorld 2022 Meiji Aculana Cruz of the Philippines, Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia 2022 Angela Looi, Miss CosmoWorld honorary advisor Dato’ Sri Chong Chin Fung, other beauty queens, sponsors and partners, including Dato’ Seri Alvin Lee of GetBats (cash prize sponsor), Dato’ Seri Danny of Starbox Holdings, Datin Sri Jekkie Tan Choi Kee of Melife Global (platinum sponsor), Dato’ Dr Ee Jackson and Christian Nannucci of Parkroyal Collection (venue sponsor).
The Miss CosmoWorld 2023 pageant is officially open for applications.
About 30 international candidates are expected to compete in the Miss CosmoWorld 2023 finals happening in Kuala Lumpur on November 2023.
Meanwhile, for the Malaysian selection, twelve candidates will be chosen to compete in the Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia 2023 finals set to be held in October this year.
Those eligible for Miss CosmoWorld Malaysia 2023 competition must be:
- Female-born, Malaysian non-Muslim citizens.
- Aged 17 to 29 years old as of 2023.
- Minimum height of 160cm.
- Single, never have been married, divorced, or have children.
Applicants must exhibit the mental capacity required for engaging in pageant activities.
The finalist selection by an expert panel of judges via audition will be held on September 23, 2023 at the Parkroyal Collection Kuala Lumpur.
