Resorts World Genting organized an early Chinese New Year celebration for a group of senior citizens from Ci-Hang Chempaka Welfare Association, Selangor.
The 36 elderly residents from the welfare home were first taken on a tour of the tranquil Chin Swee Caves Temple, where they offered prayers and paid homage to Genting founder Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong statue.
The guests then departed to Crockfords Hotel, where they were welcomed by ‘Choy San Yeh’ (God of Prosperity) and senior management of Resorts World Genting.
The guests participated in a ‘yee sang’ toss with the management team and enjoyed a sumptuous spread of Chinese New Year culinary delights.
Chinese New Year-themed performances by Genting SkyWorlds’ talented performers had the seniors enthusiastically crooning along, joyfully dancing alongside the performers. The festivities continued with a lively sing-along karaoke session by the elderly.
Resorts World Genting corporate communications and public relations vice president Dato’ Sri Kay Atisha Parasurama distributed ang pow, mandarin oranges and Chinese calligraphy well wishes, symbolizing blessings to the senior citizens.
“We are extremely happy to host and usher in the Year of the Dragon with the senior citizens from Ci Hang-Chempaka Home today.
“It is heart-warming to see the senior citizens who are aged 63 and above – with the eldest being 98 years old, enjoying themselves, feeling special and loved.
“With a community program such as this, we aim to instill positive values of love, respect, and care for the elderly among our employees,” said Dato Sri Kay.
