BUKIT BINTANG – Goddess Mazu, also known as the Goddess of the Sea or the Queen of Heaven (Thean Hou) is worshiped by devotees for her blessing, peace and protection.
The Selangor and Federal Territory Hainan Association organised a colourful street procession to commemorate the 1,052nd birthday of Goddess Mazu recently.
Hundreds of devotees joined the 3.9km procession which started from the tourist belt of Jalan Imbi, Jalan Bukit Bintang and wound its way through Jalan Pudu and Jalan Sultan in Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown.
Goddess Mazu, also known as the Goddess of the Sea or the Queen of Heaven (Thean Hou) is worshiped by devotees for her blessing, peace and protection. Women come to pray to Goddess Mazu for a son.
The Thean Hou temple dedicated to Goddess Mazu is located on top of Robson Hill off Jalan Syed Putra along the Federal Highway.
