Over 5,000 in Malaysia clock more than 321,000km in Herbalife Nutrition Virtual Run 2021

The Herbalife Nutrition Virtual Run 2021 is aimed at encouraging Asia Pacific consumers to break their bad health habits, adopt healthy active living habits, and foster communities that support their healthy living journeys.

For the second year running, the Herbalife Nutrition Virtual Run held in October 2021 saw over 5,000 participants in Malaysia run a total distance of over 321,000 kilometers.

This contributed to more than 25,000 runners across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region running more than 1.57 million kilometers in the month-long event. The total distance collectively achieved by participants across the APAC region this year is nearly three times last year’s distance – enough to circle the earth almost 40 times.

Organized by Herbalife Nutrition, the virtual run is part of the company’s Get Moving With Good Nutrition campaign aimed at helping people keep motivated to exercise amidst the challenging situation for the past two years.

Herbalife Nutrition Malaysia and Singapore senior director and general manager Steven Chin said, “In line with our efforts to overcome health inertia and encourage Malaysians to stay active, the Virtual Run for 2021 saw even greater participation this year. This was particularly important as what happened continued to disrupt healthy lifestyles and made people more sedentary in their daily routines.”

Chin added, “Supporting Malaysians on their journey of health and well-being, Herbalife Nutrition also provided tips on how to build momentum and gear up for a running routine for both beginners and avid runners alike, fueled by good nutrition.”

Nutrition Society of Malaysia president Dr. Tee E Siong shared his thoughts on the initiative and said, “For nearly two years, we’ve been more inclined to adopt sedentary behavior as most of us are confined at home affecting our health in one way or another. That’s why we need to stay active and get moving to help maintain our health.”

Commenting on her experience, Roseline Yap from NSM who completed 100km said, “This challenge was a good way for me to push myself. When there’s a clear end-goal to be met, consistently doing it becomes easier as there is daily motivation.”

The Herbalife Nutrition Virtual Run 2021 is a highlight event of the Get Moving With Good Nutrition campaign, an annual initiative by Herbalife Nutrition to help Asia Pacific consumers break their bad health habits, adopt healthy active living habits, and foster communities that support their healthy living journeys. All finishers were awarded with Herbalife Nutrition Virtual Run 2021 medals, e-certificates and various gifts.
