OrphanCare, an NGO dedicated to giving children in institutions and unplanned newborn babies the chance to grow up in the care of a family, will host a fundraising movie premier in collaboration with Janji Pictures Production.
The OrphanCare Movie Premiere & Fundraiser will take place on August 13, 2025 at Dadi Cinema, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, offering audiences a powerful film experience in support of a meaningful cause.
The special screening will showcase “Pavane for an Infant” – a stirring film that made its world premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival in October and November 2024.
This film delves into the emotional realities of abandonment and belonging – themes that deeply resonate with OrphanCare’s ongoing efforts to provide vulnerable children with the chance to grow up in safe, permanent and loving homes.
This premiere provides an opportunity for the public to support OrphanCare’s critical advocacy work, which includes operating baby hatches, facilitating adoptions and working with families to reintegrate children from institutions into family-based care.
“Pavane for an Infant speaks directly to the heart of our mission. Through this premiere, we hope to not only raise funds but also open eyes and hearts to the issues we tackle every day — abandonment, stigma and the urgent need for family-based solutions,” said Riza Alwi, advocacy, communications and fundraising manager of OrphanCare.
“Every ticket purchased is a step closer to ensuring no baby is left behind or lost to unsafe abandonment,” she added.
Audiences will enjoy an exclusive cinematic experience with special behind-the-scenes insights shared by the film’s director and the chance to meet the passionate team behind OrphanCare.
