The 2024 Miss Malaysia Tourism Pageant came to a dazzling finale at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on Sept 4 that saw three beauty titles crowned in one final night.
Mathi Malarchelvi from Penang was crowned Miss Malaysia Tourism 2024 and Wynwie Hilston Lai from Sarawak claimed the Miss Malaysia Tourism Queen of the Year 2024.
Meanwhile, Alysha De Cruz from Pahang emerged victorious in the Miss Malaysia Tourism Metropolitan 2024.
Last year’s winners of the three Miss Malaysia Tourism titles crowned the three new winners as their successors.
The three winners were rewarded with prizes worth over RM300,000 in cash and kind, including RM5,000 cash and scholarships from Peninsula College for diploma and degree programs, each valued at between RM25,000 to RM189,000.
A total of eight subsidiary titles were also awarded.
Wynwie picked up the Miss Royal Scent Essence of Beauty subsidiary title, while Alysha won two subsidiary titles – Miss Tang Men Lifestyle and Miss Mayfair Beauty & Wellness.
Organized by D’Touch International Sdn Bhd in collaboration with MyShoppo Sdn Bhd, this year’s pageant was not just glitz and glamour but a celebration of tourism, culture and friendship, with finalists from across Malaysia coming together to showcase the unique heritage and tourism appeal of their respective states.
The three title holders will go on to represent Malaysia on the international stage later this year.
Most notably, the winner of Miss Malaysia Tourism 2024 will represent Malaysia at the Miss Tourism International 2024 world final, scheduled for Dec 13, 2024, at Sunway Resort Hotel in Subang Jaya, Selangor.
Over the 12-day event culminating in the grand finale, the 16 finalists participated in various activities, including tourism-related events, sponsor showcases and charity visits, all contributing to the vibrant tapestry that makes Malaysia a top tourist destination.
