PETALING JAYA – The Curve, a shopping mall in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, hosted a fun Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed event for underprivileged children to meet their turtle heroes
The Curve, a shopping mall in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, hosted a fun Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-themed event for underprivileged children to meet their turtle heroes at the mall’s centre court on March 28, 2014.
As it is not everyday that one gets the chance to hang out with these popular fictional heroes but these 22 children, aged between 6 – 12 from Shelter Home, located in Jalan Barat, Petaling Jaya, got their first chance and a lifetime experience to meet the Turtles in person, when the foursome made their first appearance together for the first time in Malaysia at the Curve as part of its CSR programme,
The children applauded and cheered as they enjoyed the thrilling moments with their heroes and loved every minute of it.
“You can see how excited the children are. They love it so much,” said Shelter Home public relations executive Marian Ramirez.
The children were very excited and had photographs taken with the four iconic turtles, namely Leonardo “The Leader”, Donatello “The Brains”, Raphael “The Muscle” and Michelangrlo “The Wild One”.
During the game booths session, the children cheered with laughter as they pitted their ‘Ninja” style skills against each other.
There was also an interesting quiz session with prizes given out to those who answered correctly like “What is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles favourite food (pizza)?” and “What is TMNT Raphael afraid of (cockroach)?
“This is the first time we are bringing in all four characters of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on stage together in Malaysia during this school holiday for children to meet their idols.
“We hope the children have fun and a wonderful time,” said the Curve advertising and promotions head Ivan Tan.
Tan later gave out goodie bags filled with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles merchandise to the children.
The fun-filled afternoon ended with the children enjoyed their meal at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant located in the mall.
Shelter Home is a registered welfare organisation that helps abused, abandoned and neglected children. It currently has three homes in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur.
