Malaysian face mask brand Neutrovis has teamed up with KPH Healthcare and Green Ribbon Group to raise awareness, educate and connect the public with resources to help them tackle potential mental health challenges.
The joint collaboration will help ease the burden of those struggling with mental health by providing assistance and educating the public on effective methods to support friends and family in need.
It is also aimed at breaking the stigma against mental health and encourage more people to speak openly on the subject matter, in order for more people to be aware of the signs and symptoms related to the deterioration of mental health and seek professional help.
Since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Malaysian Mental Health Association recorded a two-fold increase in people seeking help related to stress throughout 2020 compared to 2019.
The World Health Organization also reported that in the first year of the pandemic, the global rate of anxiety and depression saw a substantial 25% increase which affected mostly women and younger people, especially those aged 20 to 24.
As part of this collaboration, KPJ Healthcare has introduced specialized and affordable mental health package at selected KPJ hospitals nationwide.
These comprised of three sessions and one complimentary session with a KPJ specialist or psychologist.
KPJ Healthcare chief corporate officer Ariesza Noor said the collaboration allows them to offer avenues to help individuals overcome mental health issues.
“Our hope is to be a listening ear to those who are suffering in silence, so that we can help them be heard and begin their journey towards better mental wellbeing and quality of life,” she said.
Neutrovis has introduced its limited-edition Green Ribbon care pack which serves as an emblem of support and a reminder to people with mental health conditions that they are not alone.
The masks and care pack also promote its “New Way of Living” to encourage the people to remain vigilant asthe fight against Covid-19 is not over.
Neutrovis group chief executive officer Zayn Puah said the group is a strong advocate of mental health as it has been an ongoing issue in the country.

Meanwhile, Green Ribbon founder and president Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan Al-Sultan Abdullah said team collaboration can help in raising mental health awareness.
“Our mental health problems are unseen and unheard. We never know what someone else is going through. The saying that we are only as strong as our neighbour is a good reminder that no one should have to go through their mental health journey alone,” she said.
