Nestle Malaysia supports vulnerable communities during Ramadan

A nationwide food aid programme, spearhead by Nestle Malaysia, provided nourishment to underserved families and communities during the holy month of Ramadan.

Through partnerships with various local partners, including NGOs, religious bodies, universities and community organisations, the company contributed RM1.5 million worth of food aid during the fasting month, reaching over 20,000 marginalized families nationwide.

Nestle Malaysia chief executive officer Juan Aranols said for over 112 years, the company has been unwavering in its commitment to uplifting the communities it serves, and this remains especially important during Ramadan and the upcoming Eid festivities.

“Through our initiatives, along with the dedicated efforts of our Nestle volunteers and partners actively engaging with vulnerable communities, we strive to create a meaningful and lasting impact for families and individuals in need.

“We are profoundly grateful for our collaborations and remain dedicated to foster connections that bring Malaysians together in the true spirit of Ramadan, with the hope of continuing this important work well into the future,” he said.

In partnership with Jawi Food Bank, Nestle Malaysia donated 5,000 Bakul Ramadan food packs to B40 families in the Klang Valley, benefiting vulnerable groups such as residents of Rumah Teduh, Asrama Darul Falah Orang Asli and Persatuan Orang-Orang Cacat Penglihatan Islam Malaysia.

These included essential food products aimed to provide families with nutritious staples to sustain them during Ramadan, such as Milo, Nescafe, Maggi, Nestum and Nespray Milk.

Collaborating with local universities, the company aided students eligible for zakat assistance to ensure they had access to balanced meals.

This initiative included students and volunteers who participated in gotong-royong with preparing and distributing Maggi Bubur Lambuk targeting East Coast communities through Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, International Islamic University Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan.

Meanwhile, 1,500 Bakul Ramadan were given to support marginalized communities in these areas.

In partnership with Yayasan Didik Negara, Milo distributed 1,100 Bakul Ramadan kits to students and families in need across six states as part of the Jaulah Ramadan 2025 program.

Nestle Malaysia’s outreach extended also through a partnership with Persatuan Pengusaha Restoran Muslim Malaysia (Presma), which hosted a Majlis Berbuka Puasa and distributed Ramadan and Hari Raya aid to 2,500 families.

Nestle Malaysia furthered its commitment to uplifting communities by teaming up with Malaysian Humanitarian Aid and Relief (Mahar) to assist 400 vulnerable refugee families with Nestle product donations and financial aid.

Maggi, through its 20-year long tradition, distributed 300,000 bowls of the Maggi Bubur Lambuk in underserved communities, while Nescafe and Milo offered beverages at 80 mosques across eight locations, enhancing the communal iftar experience.

These Ramadan initiatives align with Nestle Malaysia’s “Good food, Good life” promise, demonstrating its commitment to providing sustainable halal, nutritious and high-quality products, and reflecting its ongoing mission of nourishing communities and contributing to a better future.
