Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad, a household name in Malaysia’s wholesale and retail chain industry, has launched the ‘Bangga Buatan Local’ (Proudly Locally Made) campaign at Mydin Wholesale Hypermarket Subang Jaya on Dec 19, 2024.
The initiative, coinciding with the Buy Malaysian Goods Campaign 2024 led by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, aims to empower local entrepreneurs in their businesses through various product promotions and activities offered to increase sales and promote locally produced products during the campaign period.
The event was offically launched by Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Fuziah Salleh.
“This ‘Proudly Made Local’ campaign is not just to focus on community to be proud of locally-made products, it is also aimed to increase the confidence of local entrepreneurs in the quality of their offerings.
“Having confidence in your product is essential for gaining consumer trust,” said Datuk Wira (Dr) Haji Ameer Ali Mydin, the managing director of Mydin during the launch event.
He said when donating to food boxes, Mydin considers items that are locally sourced to support local businesses’ growth.
“We at Mydin give priority to local products in food box contributions to needy families as part of our corporate social responsibility programmes.
“In addition, Mydin through the Mydin Prihatin initiative also contributed cash vouchers worth RM500 to 40 small traders as financial assistance allowing them to flourish and succeed in their businesses.”
The ‘Bangga Buatan Lokal’ sales carnival takes place from Dec 19 – 22, 2024 at Mydin Subang Jaya Hypermarket to boost the local entrepreneur sector and help promote and introduce their products to the public.
Also taking place on Dec 20, the Proudly Locally Made Entrepreneurship Seminar which brings together successful entrepreneurs to share knowledge and experience with new entrepreneurs to remain competitive and become knowledgeable entrepreneurs.
During the event, Mydin also launched a new corporate song ‘Di Mata Dunia’ composed by Amirah Ali with lyrics by Shah Shamshiri and performed by popular local singer Ayu Damit.
