MRCA Charity Golf 2022 raises RM50k for five children’s homes

A mock cheque handover session with RM10,000 each for five children’s homes.

The Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) Charity Golf Tournament 2022 held at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort on Jan 21 has successfully raised RM50,000 for five children’s homes in the Klang Valley.

In a statement, MRCA said the RM50,000 raised were donated to five selected charity homes.

The five beneficiaries were Angels Children’s Home, Kuala Lumpur; Openhands Fellowship Care Centre, Kajang; Pertubuhan Kebajikan Waja Home, Klang; Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih, Puchong; and Rumah Victory Children & Youth Home, Kuala Lumpur.

The mock cheques were handed over to representatives from the five homes and witnessed by MRCA president Shirley Tay, MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation chairman Datuk Lee Hwa Cheng, MRCA lifetime honorary president Dato Liaw Choon Liang, MRCA immediate past president Datuk Seri Garry Chua and MRCA lifetime honorary president Dato Sri Nelson Kwok

The MRCA Charity Golf Tournament 2022 raised RM50,000 to benefit five children’s charity homes.

The Charity Golf Tournament, supported by MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation, had received a huge response from 124 golfers with 31 flights taken up within the first two weeks of its launch.

The highlight of the day was the charity auction where a total of nine sponsored items with a total value of RM40,000 were put up for bids. The items included branded luggage, Swiss timepieces and Italian fabrics custom-made suit.  The auction proceeds went towards the charity homes selected.

The Charity Golf was attended by guest of honour B&G Capital Resources Berhad founder and executive chairman Tan Sri Barry Goh Ming Choon, Datuk Lee Hwa Cheng, Shirley Tay and joint organizing chairmen Jordan Ng and Brian Tham.

Others in attendance were MRCA past honorary presidents, working committees, MRCA excos and council members, sponsors representatives and members of the media.
