In conjunction with Deepavali celebration, the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) Branding Education Charity Foundation brought light and cheer to children from Rumah Kebajikan Karunai Illam, Kepong, with RM10,000 worth donation comprising of cash, groceries, kitchen equipment and utensils, electrical appliances and money packets.
The MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation handed over the donation to S. Muthiah, a committee member of the home, with strict SOP compliance.
Present in the simple handing-over ceremony were MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation chairman Datuk Lee Hwa Cheng, MRCA president Shirley Tay, MRCA charity head Jordan Ng and MRCA council members.
“The pandemic poses many challenges not only to the children, but also to the staff and home’s sustainability,” said Muthiah.
He said the donation arrived in time to bring festive mood to the home and the children were thrilled to have visitors and receiving the festive gifts.
Rumah Kebajikan Karunai Illam is a home for underprivileged children who come from broken homes or orphaned, many neglected and abused. The home is located in Taman Ehsan, Kepong, Selangor.
