MR. DIY reached a significant milestone with the opening of its 800th store at Pavilion Bukit Jalil shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur.
The home improvement retailer’s latest store spans over 18,000 sq. ft. and features about 18,000 products across five key categories, namely hardware, household & furnishings, electrical, stationery, and sports equipment.
MR. DIY marketing head Alex Goh said the opening of its 800th store at the new lifestyle hotspot in Pavilion Bukit Jalil marked a major milestone for the brand.
“We opened our first store in 2005 in a shop lot on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, and now, 17 years later, we are celebrating our 800th store. Our success and this achievement are all down to the continued support of Malaysians from all walks of life, as well as our more than 11,000 employees nationwide.
“On behalf of the MR. DIY Group, thank you for making us the homegrown success story we are today. Rest assured, we will continue to make every effort to keep bringing our promise of “Always Low Prices” to life in new and interesting ways,” Goh said.
The latest store also includes a MR. TOY store-within-the-store, offering customers a diverse range of value-for-money toys.
To mark the milestone, Mr. DIY is celebrating the store opening with various celebratory activities and promotions from Jan 28 to 30, 2022.
The first 800 customers who visit the store and spend a minimum of RM40 daily throughout the 3-day opening event will also be eligible to take home exclusive freebies such as a MR. DIY water bottle or an umbrella, while stocks last.
Customers who spend above RM80 on a single receipt will be entitled to participate in the ‘Shopping Spree’, where they stand a chance to spin the ‘Wheel of Weapons’ or play the ‘Climbing Ball Challenge’ to win MR. DIY and MR. DOLLAR cash vouchers.
There will also be an interactive livestream on Facebook, where customers stand to win MR D.I.Y. cash vouchers.
In addition to the special 800th store opening programme, Mr. DIY customers can continue to enjoy its “Price Lock: Harga Kami Tetap Sama” initiative, which is the retailer’s commitment to keep prices of its MR. DIY, MR. DOLLAR and MR. TOY products locked until 31 March 2022.
