More than 20,000 visitors at IJM Land’s Chap Goh Mei 2025 celebration in Seremban 2 City Park

Over 20,000 visitors gathered to celebrate love, unity and prosperity at IJM Land’s Chap Goh Mei 2025 celebration at Seremban 2 City Park on Feb 15, 2025.

More than 20,000 attendees thronged the Seremban 2 City Park to join the Chap Goh Mei celebration on Feb 15, 2025 to mark the end of the Chinese New Year celebration.

The celebration with the concert-themed, ‘Love’s In The Air Share Feng Nian’ was hosted by IJM Land Berhad, the developer of Seremban 2 township, and jointly organised with Astro.

The event marked the ninth edition of the annual tradition, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the Seremban 2 township. 

Since its inception in 2014, IJM Land’s Chap Goh Mei celebrations have become a hallmark event, symbolising community spirit, cultural appreciation, and unity. This year’s theme, ‘Love’s In The Air SHARE Feng Nian’, embodied these values with activities and performances that brought people from all walks of life together to celebrate love and prosperity.

IJM Land Berhad chief operating officer Datuk Chai Kian Soon expressed gratitude for the overwhelming turnout, highlighting the event’s significance in fostering community ties.

He said the presence of people from all races at the event proved that Malaysians are united, demonstrating the bonds of community they have nurtured over the years.

“The incredible turnout of over 20,000 visitors underscores how meaningful this celebration is to the Seremban community.

“At IJM Land, we prioritise creating experiences that unite people, foster friendships and celebrate cultural diversity. Events like this are not just about festivities; they’re about cultivating a sense of belonging and joy that resonates with everyone.

“This year, the celebration holds even greater significance as we commemorate Seremban 2’s 30th anniversary with its tagline:  30 Years of Connecting Lives, Shaping Futures,” said Datuk Chai during the launch ceremony for the Chap Goh Mei celebration.

This year’s event was graced by the MP of Rasah Cha Kee Chin.

Also present at the event was IJM Land Berhad’s chief executive officer Datuk Tony Ling Thou Lung, together with other distinguished guests who joined in celebrating the auspicious occasion with the Seremban community.

The 15-acre Seremban 2 City Park was adorned with a blend of traditional and contemporary elements, including a large paper-cut birdcage, cherry blossom trees and floral lights.

Key highlights included three baby snake sculptures symbolising the Year of the Snake and a 20-foot-long New Year Blessing Wall, showcasing 300 blessing paintings by students from Art Corridor Studio and The Music & Art Academy Port Dickson. 

Guests were treated to captivating cultural performances, including the 24 Festive Drums by SMJK Chan Wa, dance performance by SJKC Tung Hua and a spectacular LED high-pole unicorn and lion dance by Persatuan Kesenian Gui Qing.

The evening continued with Astro’s themed concert that featured a stellar lineup of talents, including Siow Hui Mei (host), 3P, Steady Gang, Jie Ying, Geraldine Gan, and Fuying & Sam, delivering captivating performances that left the crowd in awe.

The night concluded with a spectacular fireworks display, lighting up the sky in a dazzling array and bringing the event to an unforgettable close.

The Chap Goh Mei celebration has firmly established itself as a cultural cornerstone for the Seremban community, drawing visitors from across the region. This initiative reflects IJM Land’s mission to create vibrant spaces that inspire meaningful connections and celebrate diversity.
