Miss HIT Malaysia 2022 Jeyabarathi: Hard work and determination paid off

Jeyabarathi Rajagopal, 28, from Kuala Lumpur, had just been crowned Miss HIT Malaysia 2022 on May 14.  She also took home the Best Catwalk and Best Talent subsidiary titles during the pageant.

It was Jeyabarathi’s very first big title win in five years of being in the pageantry world. She chalked up her victory to sheer hard work and determination

“I feel very satisfied winning Miss Hit Malaysia 2022 because I see this is the ultimate result of the amount of hard work and effort I have put in to make this happen.

“I always believe three things in my life to achieve that I want. Firstly, to think of the aim, secondly to believe that we do it and thirdly is to put effort to make everything possible in our way. With these three rules in life, success or winning isn’t far to achieve,” she said.

Standing at 170 cm (5’ 7”), Jeyabarathi got her start competing in pageants including Miss India Worldwide Malaysia in 2018 winning the Miss Congeniality subtitle and Top 5 placement, and a Miss Photogenic subtitle win at Ratu Anggun Malaysia in 2019.

She saw her previous experiences in beauty pageants as strengths and with confidence she worked harder earning her a crown and a dream come true.

“Every child has a dream, a dream to be successful in life. Same goes to me and I achieved my dream of being called Miss Hit Malaysia 2022.

“I would represent Miss Hit Malaysia to elevate Harry International Talents worldwide and contribute my skills and effort to the agency. That would be my future plan for this agency. Besides that, I have a responsibility to do as a Malaysian citizen. I would reveal this very soon,” she said.

Competitions keep Jeyabarathi motivated to try harder whether she wins or not. The experience is rewarding as the life lessons mattered most to her.

“Joining more beauty contests in the future is never a No to me because each platform teaches me to grow stronger and to be more professional.”

Jeyabarathi sees beauty pageant as not just about crowning of beauty queens but a platform where a woman can show her talent and prove her worth.

“By joining pageants, women will be able to express themselves, showcase their talents, develop personally and professionally and even increase their self-esteem and confidence.

“Besides that, trainings conducted by pageant organizers will improvise participants’ sense of fashion, beauty, catwalk, communication skills, attitude, behaviour and mannerism in public. This will also expand opportunities to excel in life and even inspire others in many positive ways,” she said.
