Mental Health Awareness campaign launch at Mesra Mall in Kemaman, Terengganu.

Mesra Mall in Kemaman, Terengganu successfully concluded its five-day Mental Health Awareness Campaign 2025 held from Oct 8 to 12, in conjunction with World Mental Health Day.

The event transformed the mall into a vibrant hub for community well-being, continuing the pioneering corporate social responsibility legacy of the Suria KLCC Group in championing mental health and wellbeing.

The Group first brought mental health advocacy to the forefront of the Malaysian retail scene with its landmark “We Are With You” campaign in 2021.

Through this initiative at Mesra Mall, the Group demonstrates its unwavering commitment to creating safe spaces and fostering open conversations about mental health.

The mental wellness clinics at Mesra Mall offers free medical checkups, mental health consultations, and workshops on mindfulness and stress management in partnership with Hospital Kemaman.

The campaign was anchored on the global theme, “Access to Services: Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies” and executed through collaboration with the Youth and Sports Ministry, and Health Ministry.

Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Francis Tan said the group’s journey in mental health advocacy that began in 2021 was born out of a desire to use its malls as safe spaces for crucial conversations.

“Seeing this initiative evolve and flourish year after year, now making a tangible impact here in Kemaman, is incredibly rewarding.

“The success of the Mesra Mall campaign is a testament to our group-wide commitment and the power of local collaboration in building a resilient and supportive community,” he said.

The Mesra Run brought together nearly 1,000 participants for a 5km run.

Hospital Kemaman director Dr Amran Japar said the campaign was a success in bridging the gap between healthcare services and the public.

“We were able to provide free checkups and consultations directly to the community, fulfilling the campaign’s core theme. The enthusiastic participation in our mindfulness workshops and wellness fair shows a genuine desire for knowledge and support, and we are proud to have partnered with Mesra Mall to meet this need.”

The five-day event featured a diverse range of activities designed to engage every segment of the community, heightening awareness of mental health among the East Coast community.
