Forty-six McM Global Awards recipients were honoured for outstanding achievements and successes in their respective industry at the McM Global Awards 2022 held at Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur on Nov 11.
Among the award recipients were songstress Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza, actresses Maya Karin and Elizabeth Tan and singer-actress Joey Leong, as well as Hong Kong artistes Just Cheung, Wiyona Yeung, Ophelia 3 and Eric Lau.
Siti was awarded with the Most Inspiring Visionary Singer Of The Year award while Maya received an award for Entertainment Industry Excellence Of The Year and Tan received the Female Performing Artiste Excellence award.
The event was organized by McMillan Woods Global with the theme “Vol 9”, inspired by the iconic 1953 James Bond novel, with a play on numbers (009), in conjunction with McMillan Global Woods’ 9th year anniversary.
The McM Global Awards 2022 is a manifestation of the commitment of McMillan Woods Global members worldwide to promote exemplary leadership and recognize the successes of entrepreneurs and leading business visionaries across all industry sectors.
The Award honored their overall excellence and great contributions towards global economic development, especially during the difficult pandemic times.
“2022 has been a very challenging year for all industries as they progressively recover or reboot their businesses from the pandemic.
“We, at McMillan Woods Global will do our best to be the medium in helping existing and upcoming industry players jumpstart and to ease the recovery process by providing business networking events, industrial talks and exhibitions on a national and international scale.
“These will aid tremendously in helping them elevate their business and contribute to Malaysia’s economic development,” said McMillan Woods Global president Dato’ Seri Dr. Raymond Liew.
McMillan Woods Global has over the years, through its ‘McM Cares’ programme, donated about RM2 million to various charitable causes.
This year, McMillan Woods Global aimed at raising funds of over RM500,000 for the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) and various charitable foundations, namely Yayasan Sinar Untuk Malaysia, Yayasan Nanyang Press and Yayasan Sin Chew, among others.
“We donate all the net collections from the award event to charity. I personally guarantee that no less than RM100,000 is given to charity each year. That is the reason why contributors are more receptive to the McMillan Woods Global Awards, as we do not keep any surplus to ourselves. Nonetheless, this year, following the pandemic, the bar has been raised to RM500,000,” added Liew.
