McDonald’s Malaysia started the new year 2024 with the official opening of its newest restaurant in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, officiated by Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Aminuddin Harun on Jan 4.
The local franchise holder said the opening of this drive-thru restaurant aligned with the business expansion plan of McDonald’s Malaysia, while contributing to the socio-economic development of the state.
Managing director and local operating partner, McDonald’s Malaysia Dato’ Azmir Jaafar said, “We are thrilled with the opening of our latest restaurant in Negeri Sembilan. It is our commitment that these restaurants will allow us to continue delivering Delicious Feel-Good Moments to our customers, making McDonald’s the preferred choice among local communities.
He added, “With the opening of our new restaurant, it also presents us with a direct opportunity to engage with and contribute to the wellbeing of the communities in its vicinity. This aligns seamlessly with the core values of our company, emphasizing a high priority on welfare and a commitment to creating a positive impact in society.”
Three more McDonald’s restaurants are slated to open in Gemas, Rasah and Mambau to meet the increasing demands of customers in the state.
In conjunction with the opening ceremony, McDonald’s Malaysia, in partnership with its charity of choice – the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC Malaysia), has contributed the RMHC Back-to-School Packs program worth RM120,000 to 800 primary school children from underprivileged backgrounds in the state.
During the same event, McDonald’s Malaysia presented a business zakat for 2023, totalling RM110,000, to the Negeri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council which will go towards providing assistance to aid the asnaf community in the state.
