The Miss World Kebaya pageant will be making its inaugural debut on December 1, 2024 at Grand Ion Delemen Hotel, Genting Highlands.
The homegrown international beauty pageant aims to showcase Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage through the iconic kebaya attire while boosting international tourism awareness.
Officially launched on June 19, 2024 at Subang Parade Shopping Centre, Subang Jaya, the international beauty competition is expected to attract representatives from 30 countries, showcasing the global appeal of the kebaya and Malaysia’s cultural tapestry.
“I am excited in making Miss World Kebaya pageant an excellent platform for cultural exchange and personal empowerment among participating delegates and the celebration of Malaysia’s rich heritage through the kebaya attire,” said Miss Malaysia/World Kebaya founder and president Dr Jason Hee.
As part of Miss World Kebaya competition, an innovative reality show will be released, providing viewers with a captivating behind-the-scenes glimpse into the contestants’ journeys and cultural interactions.
Starting from Nov 21 and leading to the grand final on Dec 1, the event highlights will include:
- Cultural showcase: Traditional dances, music and performances
- Kebaya fashion show: Exquisite creations by Malaysia’s top designers
- Tourism segments: Showcasing Malaysia’s iconic tourist attractions
- Culinary delights: Promoting a diverse array of Malaysian cuisine.
The Miss World Kebaya competition is open to young women from around the globe. Participants must be aged between 18 to 35 and unmarried.
Applications are now open for international participants. The final dateline is Oct 15, 2024.
