Lush Malaysia launches inaugural Showcase 2024 at Sunway Pyramid to champion climate awareness and sustainability.

Lush Malaysia, the British-founded fresh, handmade cosmetics company launched its inaugural Lush Malaysia Showcase 2024 at Sunway Pyramid, Petaling Jaya from May 30 – June 2.

The four-day event is a conscious effort by Lush to raise awareness about climate change and its effects on coral reefs while highlighting the role of consumers in practising sustainability.

The event marked a significant milestone in Lush’s journey towards a more sustainable and ethical future.

Attendees were introduced to Lush’s eco-friendly packaging, cruelty-free products and ethical sourcing processes, all contributing to a more sustainable world for future generations.

Lush sets a positive role model for sustainable beauty and community impact by highlighting the detrimental effects of plastic pollution and coral bleaching on ocean health, underscoring the urgency of conservation efforts.

Lush announced a collaboration with Coralku, a research-based coral restoration and conservation organisation for coral reef restoration projects around Pulau Lang Tengah.

Lush Malaysia also unveiled a strategic collaboration with Coralku, a research-based coral restoration and conservation organisation, aligning with Lush’s mission to increase awareness on the plight of the corals in Malaysia by extending their support to the ongoing coral reef restoration projects around Pulau Lang Tengah.

Since 2022, Lush has planted a total of 450 fragments on site together with Coralku. To continue their coral restoration efforts, Lush aims to increase the number of coral fragments to contribute to the making of the Lush Reef Garden.

Lush Malaysia also unveiled its beauty app, The Lush MY App, to offer consumers personalised and interactive shopping experiences.

The launch of Lush MY App was officiated by Lush Malaysia director Dr Harvinder Harchand.

The app provides customers with opportunities to explore exclusive offers, purchase their favourite products and enjoy unique rewards. It keeps users informed about upcoming in-store campaigns, all within a seamless, user-friendly platform.

The Lush Malaysia Showcase provided immersive experience and interactive displays, along with educational workshops that brought Lush’s products and values to life, enhancing visitor engagement.

Among the initiatives aimed to raise awareness about environmental stewardship and the importance of conservation efforts, included:

  • Bath Bomb Workshop – The public learn to create their own bath bombs using natural ingredients, guided by Lush staff.
  • Plastic Wave Structure: An eye-catching installation highlighting the issue of plastic pollution with information panels to educate visitors about the impact of plastic waste on the environment and ways to reduce their plastic footprint.
  • Coralku Conservation Booth: The public can contribute to coral conservation efforts by adopting a coral or participating in coral planting events to learn about the importance of coral reefs and marine ecosystems.
  • Musical Jelly Station: Customers can interact with colourful jelly-like structures. The jellies create different musical tones, engaging their senses and sparking creativity.
  • Lush Bring It Back Recycling Programme: Visitors who bring back their empty Lush pots will get rewarded with RM3 shopping vouchers which they can redeem in stores.

Lush Malaysia showcases the detrimental effects of plastic pollution and the importance of having a circular economy. Through the Bring It Back Scheme, customers are encouraged to participate in a circular economy model, reinforcing Lush’s commitment to reducing waste and conserving resources sustainably.
