Long-awaited Domino’s Pizza finally opens in Sarawak with three stores in Kuching

Finally, after a very long wait, Domino’s Pizza has opened three stores on the same day.in Kuching, Sarawak

The grand launch event held at Domino’s Metro City, Kuching, gathered fans of all ages to the brand’s first-ever family carnival in Sarawak, marking their first taste of Domino’s Pizza, while making it a memorable event experience.

Located at Metro City, Tabuan and Jalan Green, the stores have officially begun serving customers its pizza since April 29, 2024. This expansion solidifies Domino’s Pizza Malaysia’s position as the largest Domino’s market in Southeast Asia. The brand now operates 272 stores, marking its 27th year in Malaysia.

Linda Hassan, the group chief marketing officer, Domino’s Pizza Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia stated during the grand launch at Domino’s Metro City: “Sarawak has always been in our hearts and expanding into this new market is an incredibly exciting step for us. We are humbled to bring the delicious taste of Domino’s Pizza and our warm, friendly service to the people of Kuching.

“Our goal is to ensure that every customer in Sarawak enjoys not just a pizza, but an unforgettable Domino’s experience. We cannot wait for Sarawak customers to enjoy the Domino’s experience, including our unique offerings such as free delivery service and the ability to order up to two weeks in advance, amongst others.”

In preparation for its opening in Sarawak, Domino’s Pizza designed a training program with more than 100 Sarawakians recruited, as part of its pioneer team, providing opportunities for them to serve their communities.

The intensive three-month training program took place in the Klang Valley and covered all aspects of operations ranging from pizza making, store management, order taking and delivery.

Linda added: “We are committed to enriching the lives of the community we operate in. With our expansion into Sarawak, we are pleased to be able to create employment opportunities for the locals here. We look forward to welcoming more team members to the Domino’s family, contributing to the local economy, and helping people lead better, more fulfilling lives.”

The family carnival is packed with family friendly activities for adults and children, including lucky draws, singing contest, pizza eating contest and entertaining performances.

Sarawakians also got to experience pizza making live, with Siti Fatimah, a three-time champion in Domino’s Pizza Fastest Pizza Maker Contest, taking the stage to showcase her skills.

The special promotions in conjunction with the launch invite customers to purchase two regular pizzas for only RM30 or Boxku for only RM9.90.
