Wan Kamarul Faisal holds the Malaysia Tourism Industry Award 2022 for “Best Holiday Island in Malaysia”.

“We are extremely honoured and pleased to be recognized for our efforts in positioning Langkawi as the tourist destination of choice and for promoting the island on a global stage.

“While faced with many trials and tribulations throughout the pandemic, we remained positive and optimistic that we would be able to take Langkawi to great heights,” said Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) chief executive officer Nasaruddin Abdul Muttalib.

He added, “As we continue to progress, we are determined to do all in power to ensure our beautiful Jewel of Kedah continues to rise to the occasion and is placed among the industry’s best.”

During the awards ceremony, Nadias Hotel Langkawi bagged the award for Best 3-Star Hotel (Sea View).

Nasaruddin said with the lifting of travel restrictions and reopening of more borders, Langkawi is looking forward to hosting more international travelers on the island.

“Our ultimate goal is to be able to reach 3.2 million visitors on the island for the year 2023. We believe that this target would be easily attainable because of the uniqueness of our island that many are deeply fond of.”

Langkawi, also known as the Jewel of Kedah, is a cluster of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea, offers travelers a combination of pristine beaches, lush mountains and sun-kissed pleasure.

Luxury travelers can kick back and relax at one of the many wide array of world class hotels such as The Four Seasons Hotel Langkawi, The Datai Langkawi and St. Regis Langkawi.
