In Malaysia, with fewer than 200 dermatologists serving a population of 33 million, many Malaysians lack access to essential dermatological care, especially those in rural areas and lower-income communities.

To bridge this gap, global skincare brand La Roche-Posay, in collaboration with Watsons Malaysia and the Malaysian Skin Foundation, has launched a nationwide initiative to make skincare solutions more accessible to underserved communities.

This partnership brings free on-site consultations, personalized treatment plans and guidance to residents of Setapak, Sungai Buloh and Gombak, equiping individuals with the tools to manage skin conditions effectively.

These outreach efforts are led by renowned dermatologists Dato’ Dr Noor Zalmy Azizan and Dr Nur Syazwin Sies.

Adding her voice to this vital cause, actress and skincare advocate Hannah Delisha will use her platform to raise awareness, encouraging Malaysians to prioritize skin health as a cornerstone of overall well-being.

Additionally, participating communities will receive ongoing access to essential skincare products, extending care beyond the outreach period.

From March 1 to April 30, 2025, for every La Roche-Posay product purchased at Watsons Malaysia, RM2 will be donated to the Malaysian Skin Foundation to carry out programs, including public education and subsidised treatments, aimed at making skin care more accessible to communities that are often underserved.

Anissa Mokrani, general manager of L’Oréal Dermatological Beauty for Malaysia and Singapore said although skin health is a universal right, there are still thousands of Malaysians lacking access to essential care.

“La Roche-Posay’s initiative addresses this gap by bringing expert dermatologists directly to underserved communities, combining consultations with education, and encouraging everyday contributions from Malaysians.

“With fewer than 200 dermatologists serving a population of 33 million, this campaign acts as a lifeline – creating a ripple effect of meaningful change.

“This drive underscores La Roche-Posay’s commitment towards providing purposeful care. We believe the process of transformation begins when one is comfortable under their own skin,” she said.

By weaving education, diagnosis and compassion into a unified effort, this initiative aims to transform skin health outcomes for underserved communities nationwide.

La Roche-Posay reaffirms its commitment to bridging the gap between expert knowledge and everyday skincare needs, ensuring professional-grade solutions are accessible to everyone.
